See how Storey works →Track the week, not the streak
Track habits by the week instead of chasing perfect daily streaks. Choose a goal from 1–7 days, check off each day you complete it, and see when you’ve reached your weekly target.

Three steps
Choose a small number of behaviors you want to repeat. Rename the examples or add your own, up to five.
Exercise might be 3 days. Reading might be 5. Meal prep might only be 1. Pick the number you actually intend, not the most you could manage.
Tap a day when you do the habit. Reach your chosen target and you’ve completed the goal for the week, whichever days it took.
Why weekly goals
If your goal is to exercise three times per week, completing Monday, Wednesday and Saturday means you succeeded.
A tracker built around daily streaks can make those other four days look like failures. Rest days, busy days and the days you were never planning to train all show up as gaps.
A weekly goal measures the behavior against the frequency you actually intended. And if a goal keeps slipping, make the habit smaller before you make the week bigger: a minimum viable habit is easier to repeat than an ambitious one.
Example
Exercise
Goal: 3 days/week
✓ Monday ✓ Wednesday ✓ Saturday
Comparison
| Feature | Weekly tracker | Daily tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | X times a week | Every day |
| Flexible schedule | ✓ Yes | Limited |
| Good for exercise | ✓ Yes | Sometimes |
| Good for reading | ✓ Yes | ✓ Yes |
| A missed day breaks progress | No | Often |
| Works for non-daily habits | ✓ Yes | Limited |
If the behavior doesn’t actually need to happen every day, a weekly goal is usually the more useful way to measure it. A goal of 7 still works here for the habits that do.
Ideas to start with
Goal 3/7
Three sessions with rest days between them is a complete week. Any three days count, so a busy Tuesday costs you nothing.
Goal 5/7
Five days leaves two evenings free without turning them into gaps. Keep the bar low: ten pages still counts. More in the guide to building a reading habit.
Goal 1/7
Some habits are weekly by nature. One check-in on a Sunday afternoon is the whole goal.
Goal 4/7
Four short sits a week is a habit you can keep; seven can become one you quit. Tie it to something you already do with the habit stack builder.
Goal 1/7
A daily tracker would mark six days as failures. Here, one call is a met goal.
Customize your habits and weekly goals, then download or print a one-page tracker. It’s the same weekly-goal idea on a sheet you can stick to the fridge.
A weekly habit tracker measures each habit against a goal for the week, such as exercising three days or reading five, instead of asking for every single day. You check off the days you do the habit and see how close you are to that week’s target.
Start with three to five. A short list is easier to keep in view and leaves room to succeed. This tracker holds up to five habits, the same number Storey’s free plan tracks. For more on choosing, read How many habits should you track at once?
No. Most habits don’t need to happen daily to be worth keeping. Choose how many days a week each one needs, from one to seven, and any days you complete count toward that goal.
Yes. Set the weekly target to 3 and check off any three days you complete the habit. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday count exactly the same as three days in a row.
Use a weekly goal when the habit doesn’t need to happen every day, like exercise, meal prep or calling family. Daily tracking suits things that really are daily, like taking medication or brushing your teeth. You can mix both here: a goal of 7 is a daily habit.
Yes. Choose Sun or Mon at the top of the tracker. The week starts on Sunday by default, and check-ins inside the current week keep their days when you switch.
Yes. There is no signup, no email, no trial and no limit on how many weeks you use it.
No. The tracker runs in your browser and works without an account or the Storey app.
Yes, on this device. Your habits, goals, check-ins and last four weeks are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to a server or included in analytics. They don’t sync to other devices, and clearing your browser data or using a private window removes them.
Yes. Use the free printable habit tracker generator to make a weekly, monthly or 30-day sheet with your own habits and weekly goals, then download a PDF or print it.
Nothing resets. Start again with the next week. Your habits and goals carry over, the checks start fresh, and the week you finished goes into your history as it was.
