Best forSeeing consistency accumulate into something you keepMeasuring, analysing and connecting your habit data

Habitify is the more complete product by almost any feature count. Storey is narrower on purpose: it does one thing with your check-ins, and that thing is architecture.

02 / CHARTS VS CITY

The biggest difference: a chart or a city

Both apps record the same raw material. Did you do the habit today? How often did you do it this week? How long has it been going?

What they do with that record is where they split.

Habitify: your habits become a dashboard

Habitify is built for people who like to see the numbers.

Habits can be grouped by time of day and by areas of your life. Completions feed charts, heatmaps and streak counts. You can log your mood alongside them, run a focus timer, stack habits together and set reminders that fire when you arrive somewhere.

If you have ever wanted to ask, “What was my completion rate for running in March?”, Habitify is designed to answer that.

Storey: your habits become buildings

Storey asks a different question: what would months of consistency look like if you could stand back and see it?

Create a reading habit and it gets a tower.

Read today and a window lights up.

Set a goal of reading four days a week and hit it? Another storey is permanently added.

1 habit = 1 tower
1 completed day = 1 lit window
1 successful week = 1 new storey

A chart tells you that you were consistent. A city shows you what that consistency built.

That is the whole bet Storey makes. Some people find a rising line on a graph deeply motivating. Others glaze over at a dashboard but will keep going to see a building get one floor taller. Neither is wrong. It is worth knowing which one you are before you pick an app.

03 / SCHEDULES & GOALS

Schedules and weekly goals

This is closer than you might expect, so it is worth being precise.

Both apps support weekly targets. Habitify lets you schedule habits daily, weekly or on a custom pattern. Storey lets you set a weekly goal for each habit, such as 4 of 7 days.

The difference is what the weekly goal is for.

In Habitify, the schedule shapes your stats: it decides when a habit is due and how your progress is measured.

In Storey, the weekly goal is the core mechanic. Hitting it is what adds a storey. Missing a day or two inside the week does not matter, as long as you reach the number you chose.

That makes Storey’s goals deliberately forgiving. A gym habit set to three times a week still builds a full storey in a week when you went on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

If you are not sure what a realistic target looks like, the habit formation calculator can help you pick one before you commit.

04 / MISSING A DAY

What happens when you miss a day?

Storey

Miss a habit today and that day’s window stays dark.

Miss your weekly goal and no storey is added that week.

That is all.

Nothing you have already built is removed. Your tower keeps every floor it earned, and you carry on building from where you stopped. Storey still tracks streaks, but the streak is not the thing you lose sleep over, because the work you already did is still standing.

Habitify

Habitify does not punish a missed day either. It records it.

A gap shows up in your streak, your completion rate and your heatmap, which is exactly what you want if you are measuring yourself. For planned time away, Habitify has an Off Mode so a holiday does not distort your data.

The difference is emotional more than mechanical. A dip in a chart is accurate. A building that is still standing after a bad week is encouraging. Which of those keeps you going is a personal question.

05 / ANALYTICS & INTEGRATIONS

Analytics and integrations: Habitify wins

This is not close, and it is the main reason to choose Habitify.

Habitify can:

  • Show your habits as charts and heatmaps, with advanced insights on its Pro plan.
  • Pull data from Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit and Strava, with Apple Health sync on Pro.
  • Connect to Google and Apple Calendar.
  • Automate through Zapier, IFTTT and its own API.
  • Connect to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, added in March 2026.
  • Export your history as CSV, or as a full SQLite backup.
  • Log mood, run a focus timer, add checklists and set location-based reminders.

Storey does none of that.

It has streaks, reminders that skip the nudge if you have already checked in, progress history, calendar views, a yearly activity mosaic, a weekly recap and milestones. It has no health integrations, no automation, no API and no documented data export.

If your habits live alongside a running watch, a sleep tracker or a spreadsheet, Habitify fits that life and Storey does not.

If what you want is a reason to come back tomorrow rather than a better report on yesterday, Storey is aiming at that instead.

06 / PLATFORMS

Platforms

Habitify is available almost everywhere: iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.2 or later), Mac (macOS 11 or later), Apple Watch (watchOS 10.6 or later), Apple Vision, Android and the web.

Storey is a phone app. It runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later and on Android through Google Play. There is no iPad-native app, no Mac app, no Apple Watch app and no web version.

If you check off habits from your wrist or your laptop, that alone may decide it for Habitify.

If you are comparing Habitify with Streaks, note that Streaks is Apple-only with no Android version. Our Storey vs Streaks comparison covers that matchup.

07 / PRICING

Storey vs Habitify pricing

Habitify changed its pricing in April 2026. Its April 6 changelog introduced three tiers: Free (3 habits, 1 reminder per habit), Plus (unlimited habits, reminders and areas, billed annually) and Pro (adds checklists, automation, advanced insights and Apple Health sync, billed monthly, annually or once for lifetime).

The table uses US App Store prices as of October 2026.

Prices vary by country and store, and they change. Sources: Habitify on the App Store, Habitify on Google Play, Storey on the App Store.

One caution: when we checked, Habitify’s own pricing page still showed its older single Premium plan, at $2.49 a month billed annually or $59.99 for lifetime, which does not match the App Store. Habitify’s Google Play listing shows in-app items from $0.99 to $99.99. Check the purchase screen in the app before you pay.

The practical difference for most people is the free plan. Habitify’s free tier tracks 3 habits; Storey’s tracks up to 5. In the 150 most recent US App Store reviews of Habitify we read, the 3-habit cap and the paywall were the most common complaint.

Whether 3 or 5 is enough depends on you. Many people do better starting small anyway; we make that case in how many habits should you track at once.

If you want unlimited habits and plan to keep paying, Habitify Plus at $29.99 a year is cheaper than Storey Pro at $59.99 a year. If you want a lifetime purchase, only Habitify offers one.

08 / PRIVACY & YOUR DATA

Privacy and your data

We want to be straightforward here, because Habitify comes out ahead.

On the US App Store, Habitify’s privacy label lists only usage data and diagnostics, not linked to you. Its Google Play listing says no data is shared with third parties.

Storey requires an account and syncs your data. Its App Store label lists data linked to you, including purchases, coarse location, email and name, user content, identifiers, product interaction and diagnostics. Storey does not sell your data, and you can delete your account from Settings, but its label is broader than Habitify’s.

Habitify also lets you export everything as CSV or a SQLite backup. Storey has no documented export.

If data portability matters most and you like the idea of a city, Habit Skyline is a browser-based option that keeps data on your device with export and import.

09 / CHOOSE STOREY

Choose Storey if…

Storey may be the better Habitify alternative if:

  • Charts and heatmaps have never kept you going for long.
  • You want each habit to have its own visible history you can look at.
  • You like flexible weekly goals where 4 of 7 days still counts as a win.
  • You want a bad week to leave a dark window, not a scar on a graph.
  • You want to track up to 5 habits without paying.
  • You only check in from your phone, on iPhone or Android.
  • You do not need health integrations, automation or exports.

10 / CHOOSE HABITIFY

Choose Habitify if…

Habitify is the better choice if:

  • You want detailed charts, heatmaps and completion rates.
  • Your habits should sync with Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit or Strava.
  • You want Zapier, IFTTT, an API or AI assistant connections.
  • You use an Apple Watch, iPad, Mac or a web browser for tracking.
  • You want to export your full history.
  • You want mood logging, a focus timer or checklists in the same app.
  • You would rather buy once: Habitify sells a lifetime plan.
  • A narrow privacy label is a deciding factor for you.

11 / THE VERDICT

Storey vs Habitify: which should you choose?

Choose Habitify if you want to measure your habits.

It is the stronger tool by almost every objective measure: more platforms, more integrations, deeper analytics, data export and a narrower privacy label. If you are the kind of person who enjoys reviewing a heatmap on a Sunday evening, Habitify will reward that.

Choose Storey if you want to see what your habits built.

Storey gives up nearly all of that to do one thing differently. It turns each check-in into a lit window and each good week into a new floor, and it never takes a floor away.

The free plan holds 5 habits instead of 3, the weekly goals are forgiving, and the reward is a skyline rather than a statistic.

12 / FAQS

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Storey and Habitify?

Is Storey a good Habitify alternative?

It can be, if charts have not kept you motivated and you would rather see your consistency accumulate into something visual. It is not a like-for-like replacement: Storey has no health integrations, automation, data export, Apple Watch, Mac or web app.

Is there a free Habitify alternative?

Storey’s free plan tracks up to 5 habits, with city growth, streaks and reminders included. Habitify’s Free plan, introduced in April 2026, tracks 3 habits with 1 reminder per habit.

How much does Habitify cost in 2026?

As of October 5, 2026, Habitify’s US App Store in-app purchases include Plus at $29.99 per year, Pro at $8.99 per month, Pro Family at $89.99 per year and Pro Lifetime at $119.99. Its website still showed an older Premium plan when we checked, so confirm the price in the app before paying.

Does Storey have weekly goals like Habitify?

Yes. Both apps support weekly schedules. In Storey, each habit has a weekly goal, such as 4 of 7 days, and meeting it adds a new storey to that habit’s tower.

What happens if I miss a day in Storey?

That day’s window stays dark. If you miss your weekly goal, no storey is added that week. Nothing you have already built is removed.

Is Storey available on Android and Apple Watch?

Storey is available on Android through Google Play and on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. It does not have an Apple Watch, iPad, Mac or web app. Habitify supports all of those.
